About the Species

The Grey Wagtail (Motacilla cinerea) is a slender, agile bird often seen along clear rivers and streams. It is recognised by its grey back, striking yellow underparts and a tail that rarely keeps still. Feeding mainly on insects at the water’s edge, it nests in crevices near the shore and migrates south in winter.
