About the European Rabbit

The European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) is recognised for its distinctive long ears, powerful hind legs, and soft, rounded form. Unlike rodents, it has an extra pair of incisors that continue to grow. Rabbits live in extensive burrow systems called warrens, sometimes stretching up to 45 metres, and are most active at dawn and dusk—resting and grooming during the day.
