The traditional Japanese art form of origami inspired German designer Robin Scholtysik to develop the ORU series for blomus. What began as the design of a delicate and sculptural side table has evolved into a complete and functional furniture collection.

The ORU side table is the centerpiece of the series. Based on the principles of origami, the table is made from thin metal sheets assembled to form a three-dimensional sculptural shape. Small but important details, such as the laser-cut seams and gently curved joints, give the table its distinctive aesthetic.

Two very different sizes can also be combined very well to create a larger surface area.
