While the air bubbles in the glass dome of the IRIS lamp designed by Sebastian Herkner are reminiscent of underwater worlds, the surface of the new IRIS in alabaster reflects the unmistakable texture of the moon. Both lamps evoke a feeling of weightlessness in their own unique way. Alabaster is a cream-coloured mineral reminiscent of marble. The stone is translucent and illuminated from within by the built-in light source, creating the impression of looking directly at the full moon.
As alabaster is a natural stone, each piece is unique, differing in grain and texture—much like the surface of the moon, which appears differently from every angle.
Unlike the smaller version, the on/off switch protrudes and features a knurled rotary knob. The diamond knurling adds a tactile element and breaks the clean design of the aluminum base. The lamp functions remain the same, allowing you to freely dim the three light colors.
