Steiner GmbH und Co KG

The Loden manufactory Steiner1888 has stood for high-quality wool fabrics and interior products from Austria for more than 135 years. In our manufactory in Mandling, Styria, we create wool blankets, cushions, upholstery and furnishing fabrics as well as selected home accessories from natural materials and with great craftsmanship. As a fifth-generation family business, we process wool from yarn to finished product directly on site – from dyeing and spinning to weaving, fulling and finishing.

A particular focus lies on durable interior textiles made from pure virgin wool: regional mountain sheep’s wool as well as fine natural fibres such as merino, alpaca and cashmere. Our in-house dye works allow us to create distinctive colourways and mélanges for which Steiner1888 is known. The natural qualities of wool – breathable, temperature-regulating, robust and easy to care for – make it especially suitable for private living spaces, hotels and restaurants.

At TrendSet, we present textile living ideas for the areas of home, kids, garden and dining: high-quality blankets, cushions, upholstery fabrics and accessories, as well as placemats with a natural feel, timeless design and Alpine origin. Products for children and babies are also a key focus, including baby sleeping bags, children’s blankets and complementary accessories such as hot water bottles.

New to the collection is the sleeping blanket made from 100% pure virgin wool, 50% of which is local mountain sheep’s wool. It combines natural warmth, breathability and high sleeping comfort with regional production and long-lasting quality.

Steiner1888 produces in Austria and stands for responsible processing, short transport routes and true wool expertise – from the fibre to the finished product.
