Post-Fair Report TrendSet Summer 2017

TrendSet the number one in summer

Once more, TrendSet, which took place from 8 to 10 July 2017 in Munich, Germany, proved its position as the number one exhibition for trends and ordering in summer. This is above all because of the large number of visitors from the trade and the great variety of products at TrendSet. In 14 Interiors & Lifestyle Fair Areas plus three Topic Areas, at TrendSet Summer 2017 in Munich, exhibitors from the entire world presented inspiring products from the world of living, eating, leisure, and giving. With the attendance of 30,000 professionals, the 110th TrendSet remained at a stable level, maintaining its leading position as the International Trade Fair for Interiors, Inspiration and Lifestyle.

From 8 to 10 July 2017, the who’s who from the world of interiors and lifestyle came during summery temperatures into the pleasantly air-conditioned halls of Messe München (Munich Trade Fair Center). Three days long, the visitors from the trade obtained information and directly ordered new products, trends, and PREVIEW collections for Spring/Summer 2018 on approximately 100,000 square metres of exhibition space. For the trade attendees from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, northern Italy, and the neighbouring European member states, there was much to discover. With strong high-quality attendance, most exhibitors were able to book good order figures. The percentage of visitors from beyond Germany’s borders has, as in last January, risen by about 10 percent. The PREVIEW concept, which was started by TrendSet a year ago, has proven itself to be good. The preview of products for Spring/Summer 2018 directly at stands was very well received by the trade visitors. This encouraged additional order volumes.

Always on trend: success.

Under the main motto “Pure Unity”, at the 110th TrendSet, the large and small, the industry leaders, niche suppliers, and newcomers showed the entire variety of trendy products from the world of interiors and lifestyle. Nature, clarity, serenity, and energy were the general themes in Winter 2017/2018. The exhibitors showed that they have interpreted these trends into their products in new and exciting ways. Exhibitors showing about 2,500 brands and collections from about 40 countries once again used TrendSet as a platform for trends and ordering to present their latest products for the coming season.

The TrendSet PREVIEW concept sprouts

For many exhibitors, at TrendSet it makes sense not only to exhibit their products for the coming season, but also to show articles and new products for the season after the coming season. Especially retailers need new goods at an early point in time after Christmastime. With TrendSet PREVIEW, exhibitors at TrendSet Summer 2017 displayed their innovations for Spring/Summer 2018. Many visitors from the trade have thus already ordered for the coming year.

In focus: the TrendSet Topic Areas.

TrendSet Country & Style, the Topic Area for Heimat Collections, once again offered many trendy and traditional products from the world of Tracht (national costumes) and country-inspired styles. At TrendSet Newcomer, the Topic Area for Young Collections, trade visitors were able to discover small and innovative companies and their promising products. At TrendSet Bijoutex, the Topic Area for Accessories, the trade found many new fashion jewellery, beauty, and fashion articles.

Munich as an excellent exhibition location

As the International Trade Fair for Interiors, Inspiration and Lifestyle in Munich and the largest and most important exhibition of its kind in the southern German-speaking region, TrendSet is the meeting point for buyers and top decision-makers of all forms of trade. Twice a year, in each January and July, TrendSet sets off fireworks of ideas and inspiration.

“Once again, it has been shown that TrendSet in Munich draws a high-quality clientele. With stable attendance figures, good ordering figures were reached. At the weekend, the retailers tended to visit the exhibition. On Monday, our exhibitors were able to greet many key accounts from the central buying department at their stands. This time, there was also a variety of trends, which were implemented in an inspiring way by the manufacturers. Many used our PREVIEW concept to further increase their revenues,” TrendSet managing director Tatjana Pannier took stock of TrendSet Summer 2017.

Voices of exhibitors from the TrendSet Interiors & Lifestyle Fair Areas:

“For us, TrendSet is the most important trade fair of all. Our customers prefer to come to Munich. TrendSet Summer 2017 is running well, like the other times. As early as the first day of the fair, we were able to take in the same revenues as in the year before. We are always pleased to be here. At TrendSet, the entire package is simply just right.”

Sabine Wurm (Owner, G. Wurm)

“The entire industry is at TrendSet. That, and the location of Munich, attract a high level of trade visitors. The exhibition also gains points for great organization and a good layout in the halls. For us, this is the most wonderful trade fair at which we exhibit. Also, because of TrendSet PREVIEW, we were able to place our products for next spring optimally. At TrendSet, the entire package from A to Z simply fits the bill.”

Patricia Schüle (Managing Director/Owner, Spang)

“The customer frequency is always good at TrendSet. And Munich is simply a great place for a trade fair. Even customers from northern Germany come to visit our stand. We have even already sold some products as presales goods for Spring 2018. For us, TrendSet PREVIEW is running well and we use it, too, to sound out the willingness to order for various spring trends. We are always happy to be at TrendSet; besides, Munich is a fantastic city. TrendSet is and will remain one of our favourite trade fairs.”
