TrendSet Winter 2020: Brilliant start to orders in 2020 in Munich with a strong increase in visitors

With an ideal scheduling situation, TrendSet Winter 2020 was held from 5 to 7 January 2020 in Munich, firing the starting pistol for orders in the Interiors & Lifestyle sector. As the first trade fair of the year in this sector, TrendSet Winter 2020 offered managing directors and buyers from the retail, wholesale, and online trades a huge selection of new trends and products for the coming season and season after next. Spring, summer, and Easter articles were ordered, as were autumn products and Christmas decorations for Winter 2020/21. The exhibitors were very satisfied with many contacts and full order books. With almost 33,000 trade visitors, TrendSet itself is pleased to report an increase of 6.11% in visitor numbers over those of last year. The number of visitors from countries outside Germany also rose by 6%. The increase was mainly owing to visitors from Austria and Italy, but also from France, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary. Overall, TrendSet Winter 2020 marked a successful start to the new sales year for the industry.

Trend platform, platform for ordering, presentation forum, place for networking – TrendSet Winter 2020 offered trade visitors numerous possibilities for inspiration, ordering, exchanging information, and gaining contacts from 5 to 7 January 2020 in Munich, Germany. Bulk buyers, buyers, retailers, and online traders from the Interiors & Lifestyle sector along with visitors from the hotel business and catering trade took advantage of the advantageous dates of the fair with Sunday and a subsequent holiday to become informed of the latest trends in 2020 and to directly order the trend products.

Best mood, full exhibition halls, good order figures

“The best atmosphere permeated the corridors and exhibition stands in the eight exhibition halls of TrendSet Winter 2020. There was a huge crowd of trade visitors. Especially on the first day of the fair, visitors flocked to the halls in droves and definitely brought along their good mood for ordering,” said TrendSet managing director Tatjana Pannier, summing up the more than positive development of TrendSet Winter 2020. As at the last TrendSet events, it became clear that ordering is now shifting or expanding towards year-round collections and products for the next and already the following season. Many exhibitors took this into account by having already brought winter and Christmas goods for Autumn/Winter 2020/21 with them.

The latest for Spring/Summer 2020 and Easter

The wide variety of brands, products, trends, and offers and the sales-oriented product concept of TrendSet once again impressed. About 2,500 brands and collections from around 40 countries around the world presented their new products for Spring/Summer 2020 and the coming Easter festival at TrendSet Winter 2020. The almost 33,000 trade visitors from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, northern Italy, and neighbouring European member states ensured high order figures for exhibitors.

The first dates for ordering Christmas and seasonal decorations

With a rich range of winter and Christmas items, the TrendSet Winter 2020 is the start of the 2020 Christmas season. At many TrendSet stands, the exhibitors of TrendSet Winter 2020 once again showed new festive decorations, winter decorations, and seasonal items. This meant that at the first trade fair dates of the year at TrendSet in Munich, specialist retailers had the opportunity to find out about upcoming winter and Christmas trends and to order new Christmas articles or seasonal products. This makes TrendSet the first platform of the year for trends and ordering the latest interior and lifestyle products as well as Christmas decorations and seasonal decorations.

The trends in Interiors & Lifestyle for Spring/Summer 2020

The decorations for Easter 2020 were shown at TrendSet in Munich mainly in delicate pastels, silver and white, gold and glitter, and rural designs. In general, the interior designs are characterized by metallic colours and surfaces. Nothing in 2020 comes without gold. Animal figures from local and exotic fauna, which are amusingly dressed or modified, are full on trend. In most designs, the basic tenor is the theme of nature, which is implemented in a cosy, rural, modern, loud, or urban way. Discover more on trends for Spring/Summer 2020 at TrendSet Winter 2020.

New and innovative articles at the TrendSet Topic Areas

The Topic Areas at TrendSet were also busy. With the new placements – TrendSet Newcomer and TrendSet Country & Style in Hall B2, TrendSet Fine Arts in Hall B3, and TrendSet Bijoutex in Hall B4 – the Topic Areas were even easier to find this time. The trade visitors took advantage of the opportunity to discover innovative, new, and unusual product ideas. Besides the Topic Areas TrendSet Country & Style with trendy Heimat products, TrendSet Newcomer with new companies and young entrepreneurs, and TrendSet Bijoutex with new accessories, TrendSet Fine Arts was present at TrendSet Winter 2020, this time for the fourth time at TrendSet. At TrendSet Fine Arts, the TrendSet art area, artists presented individual works and series of contemporary visual arts. Discover more on TrendSet Topic Areas at TrendSet Winter 2020.

Exhibitors’ opinions from TrendSet Winter 2020:

The TrendSet Winter 2020 is a successful start to the year for the industry. We hope that this will continue at other fairs. The quality of the visitors in Munich is top-notch. This is where we meet decision-makers from all industry segments. Christmas pre-ordering is also well received here. TrendSet is a strong and international trade fair. We are already looking forward to TrendSet Summer 2020.
Lars Adler (Managing Director, HOFF Interieur)

The first day of the TrendSet Winter 2020 was crazy. There were incredibly many visitors. TrendSet in Munich is practically our in-house trade fair. We are always a part of TrendSet and always successful. We make many appointments in advance and meet our regular customers here. This is important for us because we act selectively. But of course we also gain new customers at TrendSet.
Michael Rossmann (Managing Director, Pad Home Design Concept)

TrendSet Winter is going very well for us. Especially the first day was first-class. The customers are in a good mood; there is a super atmosphere at the fair. We have a very high average order size at TrendSet. The Christmas business in the trade was good. Of course, this also helps us to sell here at TrendSet. Everything is always good at and with TrendSet in Munich.
Arnold Maier (Managing Director, AM-Design)

Here in Munich at TrendSet, everything simply fits. The way the fair is going is excellent; the first day of the fair was exceptionally good. We have already sold a lot here.
Darwin Molenaar (Internal Account Manager Large Accounts, Light & Living)

TrendSet Winter 2020 is running well all round. On Sunday, the first day of the fair, we had huge crowds here and the other days are going well as well. The mood of visitors and exhibitors is excellent and our order figures are high. TrendSet is simply a good fair and extremely well organised.
Ute Vosteen (Managing Director, Vosteen)

The first day of the trade fair here in Munich was the best we have ever had at TrendSet – and we have been coming here for over 30 years. But here in Munich at TrendSet we always sell well. The clientele is very high-quality and the level of visitors is high. Especially the Austrians who come here have their businesses in a prime location. We only exhibit in Munich and Paris. The cities also attract visitors to the fair. At TrendSet we simply have good placement and a lot of success.
Nico Attasio (Managing Director, DECORAMA)

We are very satisfied with how the fair is going. We have many visitors to our stand and good customers come here to TrendSet.
Cornelis Mulder (Managing Director, Cor Mulder)

TrendSet Winter 2020 had quite a few visitors. Already the first day of the fair was unbelievable. There was more traffic than ever. Quite a few orders for articles of the coming season were placed; that is, Spring/Summer 2020 including Easter, and also for the following season; that is, for Autumn/Winter 2020/21 including Christmas. The atmosphere here at the fair is very good.
Philip Lang (Managing Director, Lang Kunstgewerbe)

The first day of the fair at TrendSet Winter 2020 was brilliant. The dates with Sunday and a holiday of course played into this. Besides, Munich is attractive as a location for a trade fair. At TrendSet, things simply run well. We exhibit only in Munich. This is where we meet our regular clientele and cover, besides Germany, our clientele from Austria and northern Italy.
Agnes Kwoka (Management, Kwoka Floristik)

Here at TrendSet Winter 2020, we are taking a lot of orders. The first day, especially, was unbelievable. Although our products are very innovative, they are well received even here, where the clientele is a little more conservative. We were able to gain a few new customers and very good regular customers come to Munich. And we meet large accounts and chains here at TrendSet.
Alex Fuentes (Head of Sales, Donkey Products)

The visitors in Munich are simply excellent, just like the mood here at the fair. TrendSet Winter 2020 is going well for us. Our collections are being received well. We meet many new and regular customers here and are satisfied.
René Venema (Managing Director, LAZIS)

TrendSet goes better than many others. Munich is a very good location and is very important for us for keeping contacts. We are satisfied with the visitors and orders at TrendSet Winter 2020. Particularly the first day of the fair was very good.
Alexander Dorau (Key Account Manager, Ritzenhoff & Breker)

We are satisfied here at TrendSet. It’s going well for us. The TrendSet team is very accommodating and takes care of everything. Excellent service.
Norbert Kroll (Sales Manager, FLORAPHARM)

We are here at TrendSet for the first time with our honey pearls, a new and innovative product that interests people. We have a lot of visitors at our stand. We have already made many contacts, have good orders, and are receiving valuable feedback from the market. Many visitors have come to us more than once and have brought new people with them. Especially the first day of the fair was super. We want to give a big thank-you to the TrendSet team for the wonderful support.
Carmen David-Deckert (Sales/Marketing, Bienenmanufaktur GmbH)

TrendSet is one of our best fairs. The clientele here has a lot of buying power. There’s a lot going on at our stand. The first day of the fair was wonderful and full. We took many orders and, as always, gained many new customers. At TrendSet, everything is well organised and simply works.
Geraldine Koppmann (Managing Director/Owner, Ava & Yves)

The fair is well visited; especially the first day of the fair was really full. We have been taking good orders the entire time and were able to gain a few new customers.
Birgit Klostermann (Managing Director, bb Klostermann)

The fair is running well. For the first time, we are no longer in the Topic Area Bijoutex, but in the Fair Area Fashion & Jewellery, because we have changed to a pure order situation. Of course, we notice this change, but we have made good contacts here already. Many people from Germany and Austria are visiting our stand.
Billie Stöhr (Office Manager, Moshiki)

We are very satisfied with the fair and its organisation. Our rather maritime and Nordic products are very well received here in the south as well.
Delf Wollatz (Commercial Agent for ARTESANIA)

All our regular customers from Germany and Austria come to Munich. It has happened this time too. We are satisfied with the turnover at TrendSet Winter 2020. There was a lot going on especially on the first day of the fair.
Maria and Lana Leonardi (Management, LEONARDIarte by Roberto Leonardi)

At TrendSet Winter, everything is perfect, as always. We are always satisfied here and this time especially. Many visitors have come and are coming. The first day of the fair was extremely full. Many people from Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland came to visit our stand. We are writing good orders.
Sina Walther (Key Account Manager South, CEPEWA Collection)

We are not only at TrendSet for the first time, but also as a young company at a trade fair for the first time ever. And we’re absolutely thrilled. It’s going incredibly well for us. Many new customers have visited us; we are taking many orders – we didn’t expect that at all. Already after the first day of the fair we had so many orders that we could have gone home. TrendSet Newcomer is an ingenious way to get in touch and sell for a start-up like ours. We already have so many direct orders here at the fair. Crazy. And everything is so well organized here; there’s a lot of support and everything is so uncomplicated. We will be back in the summer. Absolutely.
Max Neisen (Founder & Managing Director, Speisekleid)

There’s a lot going on here at TrendSet Country & Style. It is surprisingly full and there are surprisingly many new customers at our trade fair stand. The first day of the fair was super; the other days are continuing to go well.
Benjamin Vogel (Head of Sales, Zwitscherbox)

We are very satisfied at TrendSet Bijoutex. The first day of the fair was sensational. We took many orders, gained new customers, and met regular customers. TrendSet Winter is traditionally always very strong.
Erik Beun (Managing Director, Malique by me)

TrendSet Fine Arts is a very good opportunity for us artists to present ourselves and make contacts. It makes it possible for others to see our art. Here in Munich and the surrounding area are the people who either already collect art or have the necessary purchasing power to start with it. The works here are high-level at affordable prices. The stand situation is very good at TrendSet Fine Arts. Everything is here, the works are perfectly staged, and the lounge furniture in the middle makes it easy to linger and talk to the artists. You can see that TrendSet Fine Arts is organized by people who know how it works and still bring as sense for art. As an artist, you will be well looked after here. The atmosphere is great. I’m still at TrendSet Fine Arts and I’m curious to see where the journey goes.
